ALBION TAXIS

COMMENTS: I am not quite sure
but one of two possible shops (what is now Perfect Pizza
and Akash Balti) on Carters Green was once a launderette
and even further back before that around 1982 or earlier a
taxi rank-Albion Taxis!.
Entering through the central doorway the arcade games
lined the walls to the left and right creating a small
corridor to the customer hatch which was central in the far
wall. The shop was not that deep so there may have been no
more than two or three cabs side by side against either
wall!. My main memory of this place was `Golden Invaders`
which was to the right side as you entered. Golden Invaders
is a Space Invaders variant,its sound was turned up very
loud filling the room with the classic Thump! Thump!
Thump! shew! Thump Shew! Thump! Thump!.
